Family Of 8 Loses everything 2 fire

This week, six children (ages 2 to 17) and their parents who live in our community had their home destroyed by fire. They lost everything they owned as nothing was salvageable. As a result, they are currently homeless. We would like to raise money for the family to help them recover from this tragedy. The proceeds we raise will go to their current needs, such as, housing, clothing, personal hygiene products and back to school supplies, as school starts in a few weeks.

Three of the youth are a part of Ikidowin and Keeping the Fire Alive program. Their eldest has been apart of the (Indigenous Peoples Task Force) for 6 years. Followed by her younger siblings, they consistently give back to our community. Mom (Casey Cotes) and Dad (Yonny Cortes) have always supported their kids and have encouraged them to follow their dreams and support them any way they possible can. The eldest is also an intern for the Minneapolis Police Department. Mother (Casey Cortes) said her main concerns are “funding a place we can call home for the time being and having enough to provide for our KIDS and that they are ready to start school in these up coming weeks. We really want to make sure our kids needs are being met and that they are comfortable and happy”. The youth in the family say "the family already has a very strong bond but is only growing stronger in this time of need" .
