Allison the Brave

Donation protected

Allison and her boys moved into their new home on Brays Bayou right before Harvey made landfall.  Just days later, several feet of water inundated her home. She spent over 12 hours on her kitchen counter (with her dogs) before she was able to be rescued.

Allison has lost almost everything. Her insurance policies did not cover any of her losses, including her car. Her dogs, her boys, and her people are safe. But as many in Houston are learning, the loss of personal belongings is still devastating.

And here's the thing about Allison: she is genuinely one of the best humans on the entire planet. She rescues dogs, and injured birds, and errant possums, and hurting people. She cares for pretty much anything that casts a shadow and she does it with her whole heart. It is no exaggeration to say that she would give absolutely anything to help someone who needed it. Many know her from her amazing children's book "Bernadette the Brave" which has brought so much joy to so many. (Buy your copy here .) And the rest of us know her from her just being her awesome Allison self.

Please donate to help my friend and yours. The funds will go toward helping her with immediate food and shelter expenses, but also toward helping her rebuild her life. And she'll probably also give some away any time she sees a homeless person in need. But right now, she's the one in need. Let's help her as best we can.
