NCS Night Hike for Rowans Hospice

We are raising money for Rowans Hospice as part of our Social Action Project for the National Citizen Service. We chose Rowans Hospice as a member of our teams grandfather suffered with motor neurone disease and the hospice helped him and his family through that difficult time - we believe the least we can do with this opportunity is give back to the charity that did so much for one of our friends and is doing so much for many more.
As a team, we shall be performing an 8 mile 3-legged night hike across Bournemouth Beach on Wednesday the 9th of August to raise further awareness of this worthy cause. The hike will be done in the fashion of a 3-legged race as those suffering with motor neurone disease have limited mobility and so we feel we should force ourselves to be limited in a similar fashion. Due to the fact the hike shall take place on the 9th, we would appreciate it if any donations be completed by midday the same day so that the money can be withdrawn and passed on to the hospice as soon as possible after the hike.
We really hope this might convince you to donate towards this worthy cause and we thank you for taking the time to care.
Our NCS group consists of eleven 15-16 year olds from a variety of backgrounds. Despite our differences however, we have all become close friends thanks to the NCS programme.
