One In A Million - Sue's Journey

They say the hardest part is asking for help but here we are (and yes it is).

A mother of seven and grandmother of nine, Sue Ann Walden was rushed to the hospital on July 11, 2017 due to breathing issues that worsened to the point where she was finding it hard to get enough oxgen. While at the hospital she had a CT scan that showed several masses all over in her neck.  It was confirmed that she had a large tumor obstructing her airway and multiple malignant cancerous cells in the region. Then she and her family heard some of the worse news possible - she has stage IV Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer that was rare and uncurable.

Up to that point, she was feeling better than she has her whole life. She was eating healthy, living very active, and surrounded by a loving family. Then Sue was informed that she had a few months left to live without any treatment but could live a few months longer with chemotherapy and radiaton. She's not ready for this to be her last chapter nor are her children so she decided to go through treatment and look for other alternatives.

The medical bills are starting to come in for her current treatment and she also has plans to seek treatment at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. In order to pay for all of this, we are needing financial help. The funds will go to current medical bills, transportation to and from MD Anderson, cost incurred while there, housing, and other associated cost.

It is important that we get her down to MD Anderson as soon as treatment at KU Med is over. So the funds need to be available for all the cost before she leaves for Houston at the first of September.

Sue Ann is not ready to give up so she will fight and we will fight beside her with your support and God's healing hands. If you are unable to donate, we ask that you pray that God will give us a miracle and that she beats this cancer.

She was given a diagnosis that one in millions of cancer patients get. In fact,  only 500 people are diagnosed with this cancer annually in the U.S.. Help her be the one in a million that lives to tell about her story of being the one who beat it.

A little message from Sue Ann during her recent hospital stay:

"There is too much in this life that makes me feel like a kid on Christmas morning waiting, except for bills, of what the day is going to bring! I LOVE LIFe!! But the Life I have comes from deep within me. The excitement and happiness are so real! Since being in this hospital the nurses continually ask is there anything else we can do and each time I answer "I'm all good"! Now maybe physically I may have what they have labeled something called "life threatening" but I know the Life Giver ! My joy is from Him!! Life can get you down sometimes but man God never will. He is my strength He is my comfort and He is my Protector! For now I'm in no pain, if I didnt feel like I was trying to breathe thru a straw I wouldn't know why I was here! Get on the keto, paleo, or autoimmune diet and you will feel amazing!! Anyway, sorry, lol, rabbit, squirrel you know the saying. I walked into a hospital last week and got gut punched , side swiped going at life's pace rolling along minding my own business, and boom here we are! The words "be prepared" come screaming out right now! Well I didn't get those dishes done I need to clean my bedroom, I've gotta pay those bills. But when it comes down to it , I have prepared! I have talked to a God who gave his only son for a little old Kansas girl like me! A nothing a nobody!! He loves me and all my imperfections He knows I'm weak and lazy a procrastinator a rotten friend a mom who cant keep her fridge organized for nothing. But it didnt matter! When God said your a sinner I believed him. You seen my list you know I got some problems. But then He said you to need to confess. I was like ok I can do that I have no trouble admitting I'm wrong. So then He said now ask Jesus to come live in your heart. And I did!!!! Since the age of 4 He has been there! The Joy I carry around today is a result of that gift from God. That gift of believing something so simple is Eternal life! Guys I'm not dying!! This body will but not me!!! That person that spiritual being of mine will go away to a place I can't even imagine."
