Help Lift Us Up

The New Baden United Methodist Church serves a small community in Southern Illinois, about 30 minutes East of St. Louis, MO. Traditionally a small and older congregation (average attendance around 50 people), we are experiencing an exciting growth in younger members from young adults down to infants. As we welcome the rise in the number of young people, with a pathway to a hopeful future, a very important part of our congregation continues to age. To serve all of God's people, it is our hope to install an ADA compliant wheelchair lift to provide sanctuary access to our elderly and disabled members early this spring. The current, severely outdated stair-chair is experiencing technical issues and is becoming difficult to maintain. This current system glides over the existing staircase, without any rails or bars, and can only accommodate one person without a wheelchair. The inspection certificate expires in 2019 and we aren't certain this system will pass another certification. We would greatly appreciate your prayers and any financial support you might provide.
