Bringing the Light to BoulderPaddle

The lights on the North Boulder platform tennis courts are 30+ years old and in desperate need of an upgrade. New LED lights will create safer and more enjoyable playing conditions. We petitioned the City in 2016-17 to install new lights, but unfortunately, that request was denied.

Now we are asking you, the local platform tennis community, to help us raise the funds to cost-effectively upgrade the current posts with LED fixtures that are designed specifically for platform tennis. LED lights will provide for safer playing conditions and more reliable and lower cost lighting long term. 

We have done the leg work to research the best solution, get bids on LED light fixtures + installation, and have also received approval from Parks and Rec to move forward with this upgrade. Now we need your help.

The total cost estimate to replace all 12 lights is $12,000. Our goal is to raise this amount by March 31, 2018 – or sooner! 

When you click on “View Campaign” below, you will be asked to make a donation commitment toward the new lights. Your actual donation will be made (i.e., the money transferred to the City) only when the Parks and Rec Dept. agrees to install the new lights. If the LED lights installation does not occur, no donations will be made.
