Let's Help Heather!

In late 2018 a dear friend and coworker, Heather Boyce-Lesnik, received some terrible news. She was diagnosed with lymphoma. After weeks of appointments and a non-informative biopsy, (and way too much stress) a decision was made. Instead of performing another biopsy, Heather, Chris, and the doctors decided to remove the lymph node and full mass - helping to fully understand what they were dealing with.

A few days later, the test results were in. There is a bit of hope - Heather has Hodgkins Lymphoma (the more treatable type). She has been diagnosed as stage 2A, meaning that is has spread to other nodes above the waist, but doesn't have any of the B symptoms, which are fever, sweats, or weight loss.

Therefore, a few weeks ago, Heather and her medical team came up with a plan to begin treatment. She is on a bi-weekly, four month treatment plan of chemotherapy in order to shrink the remaining growths. Our hopes are that this will do the trick and this horrible situation will be over with. If follow up scans are not favorable, radiation will be the next step.

Unfortunately, Heather’s insurance renewed in February, verse the beginning of the year. Therefore, the family will have to pay the $3,500 deductible twice. After that, their insurance will kick into an 80/20 - with their total out of pocket soaring to $7,500. We’re looking at close to $15,000 of medical fees in a few short months. Lets be honest, treatment is stupid expensive and her family is gonna hit those maxes quick.

Here’s where you come in. We’re looking to friends, family, strangers and beyond to help offset some of these medicals. Two years ago, I personally witnessed the amazing generosity of people (even complete strangers) when my mother-in-law was battling cancer. The money we raised then helped alleviate additional financial stress that no one should have to worry about during this tough time. Let’s get together and do that same thing for this amazing person.

Please consider a donation (in any increment) Seriously, any amount helps…

Pease share the link to this page to your friends and family. Support is contagious and it feels great to help - even possibly a total stranger.

Thanks for everything, Matt
