Go Fund Me – Little Ollie Mc Govern

Ollie is a beautiful fun loving 3 yearold boy.  He loves Paw Patrol and wants to be a Super hero when he grows up.  He is tall for his age with blonde hair and blue eyes that glint with mischief.

Ollie’s parents Kevin & Bernie met in London and decided to move back to Ireland when Ollie was a baby to be nearer to both their families. Kevin is a native of Rathmullan, Co. Donegal & Bernie hails from Mayo, where the family are now living.

Last year Ollie was delighted to become a big brother to baby Tara Rose who recently turned 1. Family life was busy, but also wonderful. Kevin & Bernie both found work at home in their chosen professions and were delighted to have the family support they had missed in London.

Their family life was turned upside down when Ollie was diagnosed with Lymphoma on the 22nd of September 2020. They had taken him to the Doctor following a persistent high temperature, and were devastated to discover Ollie had Lymphoma.

Ollie began a 6month treatment plan in Crumlin Children’s Hospital within days of diagnosis, and is responding well to this.

This Go Fund Me page was set up by friends and family of Kevin & Bernie to try to support them at a time that is extremely stressful.  Anyone that knows Kevin & Bernie will attest to the fact that they are a lovely young couple – warm & friendly, and completely devoted to each other and their two beautiful children.

They are also quite private, and did not initially want a Go Fund me as they want to maintain Ollie’s privacy & do not want this on social media. Therefore, we respectfully ask that this is shared by email / whatsapp etc. but not on social media.

As treatment is underway, all other aspects of their life have to be put on hold, and we feel that this will help to alleviate financial worries and show them that we are all behind them.  We are also aware that they will have a difficult journey ahead, as Ollie getting better remains their number one priority. They are supportive and grateful for any support received.

We, the team who set up this page has a goal of raising €20,000 for the family, however, we understand that times are tough for everyone so would be really grateful for any donation received.

Fundraising Team Information

We are a team of close friends of both Bernie & Kevin who have taken the opportunity to fundraise in order to help cover any financial impact that Ollies treatment may have and any supplementary costs incurred by the family due to their change in circumstances over the course of Ollies road to recovery  . The team members are Donna (Donegal/Dublin), Andrew (London) Paul (Donegal) and Jarlath (Galway). We are all longtime friends  of the McGoverns and indeed some of the team are extended family members and Godparents to Ollie. 

Once the fundraiser is concluded all funds will be transferred via bank draft or bank transfer to the McGovern family.
