NATURE ISLAND! EXCITING NEWS FOR THE GREATER SLIDELL AREA!  “There’s not that much to do in Slidell.” THANK YOU for considering a contribution to help us with Nature Island! After seeing the comment above in social mediums numerous times, I decided to post information on Facebook about a project I presented back during my days in the Louisiana Senate.  We had an amazing response with a record number of likes and shares! A lakeside nature park next to the I-10 fishing pier designed as a family venue was a naturally good idea but the funding of the project was a challenge at the time. Here is the latest rendering by our designer, Eric McQuisten.  As the design continues to evolve, we will share it with the public. Please keep in mind it is work in progress and your input is welcome.  Eric R. They are hungry for a project such as this. They want and deserve access to the lake, a nature park, a place to picnic on the lake, watch the sun rise and sun set, a kids’ playground and many other amenities. NOW is the time to move forward with this amazing venue for Eastern St. Tammany Parish.  Nature Island, Inc. is set up as a non-profit entity so we can now accept contributions. The first expense is to cover the architect’s fee. I’ve contributed the first $500.00 and we need citizens and businesses to help with the initial start-up costs.  Any amount would be appreciated.
