Making + Moving in Morocco

Hello!
I am a Chicago based textile designer passionate about the intersection of design and sustainability and believe in redesigning a better supply chain. I value the power of community building through collaboration and connecting over a shared experience. I started leading natural dye workshops in Chicago two years ago to combine these passions and empower others with the magic of natural dye. By utilizing our natural resources and turning waste into new materials, we can create unique textiles as we learn from one another. After a recent trip to Nicaragua, I discovered several communities there that would greatly benefit from these workshops, and not only will the communities learn a new skill set utilizing their own natural resources, but they will also learn about valuable tools to empower their lives creatively and financially. I will be returning to Nicaragua in August to lead workshops with three groups over the course of my week: several young women in the village of Salinas Grande, the girls of UPNicaragua , and the community at the Girls Home in Granada. In order to fund this trip for a week to Nicaragua to help better the lives of these girls in need through creative expression, community building, and self empowerment- I need your help! Any contribution is appreciated and incredibly generous. Additionally, I will be partnering with the Souljourn Yoga Foundation for this trip to continue developing relationships with their global partners, and any donations are eligible for a letter for charitable tax write offs.
