Our National Parks are in trouble.

Just a year after the National Park Service's centennial celebration, our parks are teetering on the brink due to meager Congressional funding, inadequate staffing, and overcrowding.

For example,  National Parks Traveler recently reported that Zion National Park is considering a reservation system for year-round entry to that incredible park due to overcrowding and understaffing. Yellowstone National Park, perhaps the preeminent wildlife park in the system, recently saw its grizzly population lose its protections under the Endangered Species List, and its bison herds continue to face intolerance in Montana.



Our mission at National Parks Traveler is to promote the strong protective status of the National Park System, which is critically important to the future of conservation, cultural resources, and historic preservation. We strive to make the American public aware of the negative impacts that this, and any other, administration can have on the National Park System.

With your help we’ll explore more parks, create more multimedia stories, and regularly report on issues that affect our national parks. We’ll bring you timely news about issues, and help hold Congress and the National Park Service accountable for their management.
