Nathan Uriah Walters ❤️ Campaign

Donation protected
Hey guys, so I was talking to James today and realized that it’s been 16 years that we’ve been friends, we both even ended up being firemen after wondering around the work force for years then settling on the fire service in the same year. You rarely find people who you are truly kindred with but James is that to me. I’ve known Katie since she was born since our parents where friends growing up so this family’s burdens are my burdens. James was a groomsman for my wife and I in our wedding. My two brothers and I were all groomsmen for him and Katie. So all that to say, when my brother is in need (even if he is to proud to ask for it) we do what we can to help!

This campaign is to help James, Katie and Jacob with the journey they are now on with baby Nathan. We can all help out in some way and one of the easiest is finances, it’s one of the biggest stressors of having a child in need of medical procedures and attention. James and Katie will have at least one trip to Boston and the travel expenses will mount up fast as well as medical bills that have already started pouring in. Please pray for this family, GIVE and share if you can! ❤️

“Sweet Friends,
We haven't shared this with many people because we haven't been ready...
But about a month ago, we were told something was wrong with Nathan's heart, but we didn't have a diagnosis. Over the last few weeks and multiple referrals, eventually leading us to CHOA's Sibley Heart Center, we now know what's going on. Nathan has a rare version of a severe heart defect.
It's been a whirlwind few weeks and it seems it's only continuing. The folks at the Sibley Heart Center are sending us up to Boston Children's Hospital/Brigham & Women’s where they'll place a catheter in Nathan’s heart in utero. This is all in an attempt to hopefully prevent further defects from developing.
I'm nervous and scared and overwhelmed. CHOA sees around 3 cases a year like Nathan’s, whereas Boston sees around 20. We will be seeing the head of the Fetal Cardiology department, and we thank God we live in a place where we have access to such doctors and technology.

I have created a blog via CaringBridge where you can subscribe to follow our updates. Your prayers are coveted and your words of encouragement are welcomed. We are scared, and this is a difficult path, BUT we know full well God is greater. We know He has been preparing our hearts for such a time as this. God establishes our steps and He is walking before us. This is not His plan B.

Please pray for the doctors: that they would have the wisdom needed to make the appropriate decisions for my and Nathan’s care. Please pray for discernment as we also navigate the appropriate paths to take for his treatment. Please pray for peace as worry tries to creep in. Please pray for Jacob, because I don’t want his little self to feel neglected in this crazy time when he doesn’t understand why Momma and Dada aren’t around 24/7. It’s hard on my Momma-heart.

Thank you all for your earnest prayers. ❤️”
