Nathan's Opportunity of Hope

Three years ago this past February, my brother Nathan was enjoying school and playing three sports (baseball, basketball, and soccer), when he unexpectedly was struck with intense pain, extreme fatigue, and neurological dysfunction. He was later diagnosed with a continuous migraine, POTS, dysautonomia, neurological Lyme disease, and brain injury.
Many prayers have been said, many prayers have been answered. His bed used to be the only safe place for him because everything else made him sicker. Nathan missed his junior and senior year of high school and part of 10th grade.
Through God's leading, through treatments, functional neurology therapies, healthy eating, and his recumbent bike, Nathan has come a long way. Now he is attending Crown College and his classes count for high school credit. He is able to play sports again and even have a job. Many of his issues are much better or gone, but his continuous headache remains along with fatigue.
Recently, my mom has discovered an exciting new option in an ongoing effort to help Nathan get completely healed. The best way to describe this with you is to share her recent CaringBridge entry:
Nathan has come a long way since he got sick three years ago, February 2015. We are believing that someday soon he will be totally well and his headache and any remains of his illness will be gone. We are believing in God's Word and His promises. "The Lord will protect him and preserve his life..... The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed and restore him from his bed of illness." Psalm 41:3 "You restored me to health and let me live." Isaiah 38:16 "Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits – – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion...."
What amazing hope! Recently, a door has opened for Nathan to receive a special kind of treatment that uses his own cells to bring healing. Nathan has an appointment in Florida at US Stem Cell Clinic on March 19, 2018. Doctors there will use his own fat to harvest stem cells which will be put into his spine to encourage healing to his neurological system. Some of the stem cells will be stored for future use. Truly remarkable and amazing! Our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator!
Nathan is very excited and anxious to have this opportunity of hope. With the start of this new year-2018, I knew that February would mark three years of his headache. It was on my heart as his mom to search for an avenue of healing. With much prayer and research, this is the direction we are going. Please keep Nathan in your prayers. Praise God for what He has done and what He will do! "Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1
The distance and cost is our family’s biggest challenge. Since this procedure is not provided locally and insurance does not cover any of the cost, we (I and my family) have created this fund. As we take this next step of faith, we ask that you join us in our journey to bring Nathan to complete healing. If you feel led to pray, would like to help financially or in other ways, we would appreciate it so much! As you can imagine, we are all very hopeful and optimistic about the possibilities this procedure presents! The cost is about $15,000 which we are trusting God to provide. He has carried us through so much these past years and has been so faithful that we have full confidence in His provision and promises.
