Nathan is an incredible father, loving husband, and great servant for God. If you know him, you know how kind, compassionate, and friendly he is. What a lot of people do not know about Nathan is that he has a medical condition called HHT (Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia), also known as Osler-Weber-Rendu.
Nathan has had to undergo many procedures in the past few years from nasal cauterization, cyberknife AVM on brain, SIX pulmonary embolizations, and now he is in need of Laser Intra-Nasal Telangiectasias for Epistaxis. This procedure is to help correct the AVMs in his nostril causing his frequent nosebleeds. Nathan suffers from multiple nosebleeds a day lasting from 15 minutes to over an hour. These nosebleeds take a lot out of him, interrupt his daily functions frequently, and cause dizzyness, blood loss, blood clots, and headaches. He is now at high risk for loss of conciousness due to nosebleeds, and need of a blood transfusion.What is HHT?
Even though we currently have insurance, we are required to pay out of pocket cost and co-pay prior to the procedure. The cost is $2268.38. As many of you may know, Nathan has surrendered to God's calling on his life to pastoral ministry and is going to school full time and working part time. With a family of five on my income, this is an amount we simply cannot afford on our own and we are asking for help. Each day, his nosebleeds get longer, more clotted, and harder to stop.
