Nathan Anderson '02 Memorial Ring

Maj. Nathan W. Anderson ’02 was a member of Company H-1 in the Corps of Cadets and served as the Platoon Sergeant for the Meatball Platoon in the Ross Volunteer Company. After graduating from Texas A&M, he attended The Basic School (TBS) in Quantico, VA where he graduated in the Top 10% and was selected to become a Huey Helicopter pilot. After successfully completing three deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he gained an impeccable reputation, Anderson was selected to become an instructor pilot at Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS 1) in Yuma, Arizona. Maj. Nathan W. Anderson died during a nighttime training exercise while stationed in Arizona in 2012. He is survived by his wife Amanda, and his two sons, Randon and William.
 
On 21 December 2017, Maj. Anderson’s Texas Aggie Class ring, wedding band, and his wife’s wedding ring were stolen from Amanda Anderson’s home.

The Texas Independence Relay is a 181 mile race from Gonzalez, TX to Houston. This year, on 24 March, a team of 12 cadets will be running this race in an effort to raise awareness and money to purchase a replacement Aggie ring for Mrs. Anderson. A donation of any amount will go a long way in both supporting Mrs. Anderson and honoring the memory and selfless spirit of Maj. Nathan Anderson.
