Ghana Healthcare Trip

I'm going to Ghana! As a nursing student at University of New England, I am honored to travel to Ghana in August 2016 with other healthcare students and professionals to provide care to the people of Ghana. Our team is composed of nurses, pharmacists, public health professionals, physical therapists and other healthcare professionals. We will spend two weeks in Ghana  setting up medical health clinics for the local population.

University of New England takes this trip yearly and it is a privilage to be a participant for 2016. Many of the patients walk long distances to reach the clinic, and the line begins to form as early as 3:00 AM. Past statistics show that the UNE team sees over fifty patients each day with medical issues ranging from back and neck pain to open wounds and malaria. Patients range from babies to elderly individuals. 

I am beyond excited for this opportunity to join two of my passions, healthcare and travel. Please help support me as I travel to Ghana to provide healthcare to the people of Ghana. The approximate cost of the trip is $3,800. This includes airfaire to and from Ghana, medical supplies, clean water, immunizations, lodging and meals.
