I feel like everyone in the music scene here in indy know who Nate is. He has been a big part of indymojo and has been a dear friend to us all for YEARS.
Today I got to witness a pet parent go through the fear of emergency visits and expensive treatments. Nate had to take Enky in last night to an emergency vet. It cost him $935 for them to tell him that he wasn't blocked and they weren't sure why he was crying out in pain. Today, Nate texted me wanting to know if I could come look at Enky's foot. When I got there, there was definitely a wound on the foot and Enky seemed to be in a ton of pain, even on the given pain medication the emergency clinic sent them home with. The wound seemed infected just by the smell, so I advised Nate to call the ER back to discuss this with them. They were assholes on the phone with him and they told him that there was nothing they could do without seeing Enky again. So he had to take Enky back today to be looked at, again, and they charged him $671 for this visit.
They wiped out his entire savings on christmas eve and didn't bother to take accountability for missing the wound last night and were not empathetic to Nate at all.
My heart sank as I watched all of this happen today.
So I want to give back. Nate has done so much for this community. I wanted to say thank you to him for everything and I wanted to show him that we care about him and we love him. If you can help in ANY way, please do. The goal is $1500. If we don't hit it, that's okay. Every little bit will help.
