Nate Gohl and Family Fund

On August 4, 2022, Nate went to the Mercy Hospital Emergency Room because he was experiencing severe shortness of breath and chest pain. He was admitted to the hospital, and in the days following, his doctors found an 11.5 cm tumor in his lung and diagnosed him with advanced stage 4 small cell lung cancer. In Nate’s words, the cancer also has built some suburbs in his brain and a small town on his kidney. The cancer is also starting construction on a summer villa on his pancreas. Nate will undergo four rounds of chemo and radiation treatment. We are hopeful that this medicine will tear down some of the new construction.

This news has come at a time when there is so much to be celebrated in Nate’s life. Back on November 9, 2021, Nate entered treatment for his battle with alcohol. He was ready to make life changes for himself and his family. Nate celebrated nine months of sobriety on August 9, 2022, the same day he started chemotherapy. We have all been so proud of Nate and his sobriety, and it has been difficult to watch him navigate this setback after all the strength he showed to get sober.

Nate and his wife, Larissa, and daughters, Devah (16) and Noe (13), have a challenging road ahead. His daughter Devah works at Schmitt Music, plays snare in the Anoka drumline, and she will attend the University of Minnesota as a high school junior next year. His daughter Noe is entering 8th grade, and she loves to paint, act, and sing. She will perform in James and the Giant Peach at Upstage Productions Children's Theater later this month. We would like to give Nate's girls help with gas, food, and other living expenses, so that they can focus on their time with family and caring for Nate during his treatments.

We appreciate any support you can give them.

GFM Disclosure: This fundraiser is organized by Nate’s friends and family. Nate’s brother, Brent Gohl, will manage the account for the benefit of his wife, Larissa, and their daughters, Devah and Noe.
