I will spend time in the Beber Village nestled in the Zawiya Ahansal Valley of the High Atlas Mountains in North Africa. While there I will stay with local families and be emmersed in the Morracan Culture.
Throughout the week I will participate in language lessons with locals and will collaborate with the community members in a service project. Such as community gardens, tutoring, community center library, or community refuse program.
I will get the opportunity to meet with the Sheikh (authority figure) and get to talk about Beber culture and issues going on throughout the village. Besides getting to work side by side in a beautiful village with wonderful people I will get to seelife outside the peaceful village in the fast paced city of Marrakech where I will stay in a Riad and talk about Islam today in Moroccan society.
While there we get to take a calligraphy class, shop in Jamaa El-Fna Square, watch a snake charmer, see the incredible architecture, eat amazing Moroccan food and drink Mint Tea.
I am so thankful for this incredible opportunity but it definately comes at a cost. If you are reading this and are able to help, please do. Even $5 would help me in making this trip a reality.
I am also willing to talk to you more about this trip if you would like me to call you, please private mesage me and I will be in touch.
Thank you for any help you can give.
