Support My Team USA Journey

Hi, my name is Natalie Russo. I have been playing power soccer for over 11 years now, which is funny because when I first heard about the sport, I literally wanted NOTHING to do with it. I thought it sounded silly and pointless. In fact, I was only playing because my mom said I had to until they found enough players. I never would have thought it would enrich my life as much as it has, nevermind allow me to represent my country on an international level. I put on a guard to practice that first night...and never looked back.

In 2006 I decided to apply to be a part of the inagural World Cup team. Twenty of us were invited to tryouts (intense tryouts), where twelve of us were selected to join the official team. As a member of Team USA, I grew not only as a player, but also personally as a leader and an ambassador. The first world cup was held in Tokyo, Japan... another experience I never would have imagined participating in before power soccer. I ended up becoming an alternate for this team so I did not get to play during the actual tournament, which was hard, but I don't at all discount my experience or my world cup title because of it. (Yes, we were the underdogs....and yes, we dominated :) )

Fast forward to 2009, I again applied to be a part of the 2011 World Cup team that traveled to Paris, France. Unfortunately, I did not make the team and although heartbroken, I did not let it hold me back. I continued to push myself to be better. (We won our second world cup title at this tournament!)

In October 2014, I again tried out for the national team and was thrilled to be selected as a member of the top twelve. I've worked hard and grown a lot over the years and I plan to offer my knowledge and experience to assist in bringing home a third world cup for the United States.

In order to continue our victory streak, Team USA has to train like never before. To do this, we have training camps in various places across the country, every other month. We are all responsible for our own travel and as you can guess, it can get quite expensive. This is especially true since I also need to bring an assistant to help with my daily needs.

It is an absolute honor to be a part of the Team USA family. I apprecaite any support you can give!
