Quite suddenly, Natalie developed Occipital Neuralgia (ON). ON is a condition in which the nerves that run from the top of the spinal cord up through the scalp, called the occipital nerves, become inflamed or injured. The pain is awful. Ever have a migraine headache? Multiply that by ten. Then, imagine living with that, each day, for more than a year.
Natalie’s world has become a nightmare. She rarely gets out of bed. She cannot hang out with friends. She cannot drive. She missed her freshman year of college. Her life is on hold.
Natalie has seen dozens of doctors and tried recommended treatment after treatment. And yet, nothing has helped. No relief, just constant, debilitating pain. There’s a reason they call this the “suicide disease.” Most people would rather die than continue to live in this agony.
This may be the LAST hope for Natalie.
A proven, respected Virginia surgeon has a good track record of stopping this pain. But, the surgery will cost Natalie and her family $15,000. Her health insurance will not cover that cost.
