A super-duper amazing thing happened!
Jacob and Natalie's robotics team were titled the: "Champion Team of Los Angeles".
Their team is one of the Top 100 teams of the 32,000 teams who competed worldwide!
They would love to take all that they learned in their hundreds of hours of applying science, technology, engineering and math.....and now participate in this academic, olympic-style event!
Will you help the Wallis family raise $2,800 to allow Jacob and Natalie to participate in the World Championship?

Along with having the incredible, fun experience of meeting and interacting with students from around the U.S. and other countries, their team will be entering judged events where they will need to:
1) Run their Robot in timed, scored runs
This season they designed, built and programmed a robot that could run autonomously on a field table, scoring points as it completes missions.
2) Deliver a Mechanical Design Presentation
Explaining to judges the rationale and programming for their robot development
3) Deliver a Project Presentation
In 5-minutes they will need to present their 12-weeks of extensive research on a current problem that exists between human-animal interactions, as well as their innovation for that problem. And then engage in 10 minutes of Q&A from a panel of judges.
4) Showcase their Teamwork Skills
In a core values activity, they will be presented a task to solve as a team. Judges will be evaluating the effectiveness of their interpersonal and teamwork skills in the completion of the task.
It would mean so much to us, if you would shower Natalie and Jacob with your support. This is a dream come true for our family- as we value education so dearly.
Your contribution will truly be appreciated!
We are collecting money for:
Airplane Tickets ($400/person x Jacob, Natalie, Mom)
Hotel reservations ($200/night x 5 nights)
Ground transportation (taxi, shuttle to/from airport)
Shipping costs (for their presentation boards)
If you would prefer to donate to us directly, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you in advance for joining us in letting Jacob and Natalie know that you too stand behind STEM activities that develop our future leaders!
The FIRST Lego League World Festival will be held April 19-22. We hope to give you lots of reports from Houston!
