Natalie's Envision Program

Donation protected
I’d like to introduce you to Natalie. Natalie is a freshman in High School and a gifted student. She is currently exploring a career in law. Due to her superb academic achievements, she has been selected to participate in the Envision Intensive Law & Trial program  in collaboration with Stanford University  this summer.

This is an outstanding opportunity for Natalie, one that is well-deserved. The program has a cost of around $3995 + $200. This amount covers her room and board for the 10-day program from July 23 – August 3, 2018, as well as college credits. Additional to the program expense, she will incur travel expenses from her home in the state of Washington to California, including airfare, incidentals, and court-appropriate clothing.

Not only is Natalie an exceptional academic achiever, she is also active in her school’s FFA program . She is also in student leadership, and most importantly, she is a role model to her 3 younger sisters.

As we all know, raising a family can be expensive, and her family does not have the extra money to afford to send her. Natalie did her best to apply for a scholarship to this program, but unfortunately was not selected to receive some of the very limited grant funds available. Given this, I have volunteered to help sponsor a part of her tuition to this program. I am personally donating $1,000 toward this program and mentoring her through the fundraising process to help her get to Stanford this summer. This is very important to me as a professional woman to mentor young girls in understanding their options and help them strive to achieve their goals.

It’s an honor to be in this position and I invite all of you to participate in helping this young woman, a leader for tomorrow, achieve her goals. This opportunity is one-of-a-kind. Any dollar amount counts, or even sharing this campaign with others.

Here is more information about this program:

Intensive Law & Trial allows you to immerse yourself in the theory and practice of law and to develop a roadmap for becoming a lawyer. At this 10-day program you’ll be exposed to the practice of law, legal rhetoric, and ethics from pre-eminent legal professionals, including Stanford Law School professors. You’ll also develop and practice essential legal skills such as making impactful opening and closing arguments, preparing cases, and readying witnesses for cross-examinations.

In a simulation endorsed by the American Mock Trial Association, you will prepare for a court case, just as any attorney does—you’ll practice the art of creating effective oral arguments, directly examine and cross-examine witnesses, gain an understanding of evidence and its integrity, and learn how to manage a courtroom. Powerful skills workshops will help you develop your own personal mission statement to set and attain your future academic and career goals.

Intensive Law & Trial can help you better understand what you might want to study in college and which schools make the most sense for you. Intensive Law & Trial can also help you to hone your leadership abilities to be more effective in college, career, and life.

Here's a note from her very proud father:
"My name is Gil Gomez and I would like to share with you some attributes that make Natalie Gomez, my oldest daughter, a rising leader in our small community of Bonney Lake, WA.

Awards / Honors – 4.0 student
Extracurricular Activities – 2 published Newspaper Editorials
Clubs / Memberships – FFA member and speaking competitor
College Career Plans / Preparedness Courses – Planning on doing running-start program so that she graduates high school with a diploma and a college AA degree

Natalie is willing to do the necessary work to accomplish the task and she is not afraid to enter into a controversial debate in the defense of the ‘right thing’.

Natalie’s passion for justice and equality is a fit for the legal profession.

As the son of an immigrant family of farmworker parents, I had tremendous support from a humble network of family and friends which propelled me to an undergraduate degree from a value college.  Natalie’s circle of influence and support is more affluent than mine was. Nonetheless, funding the Stanford Summer Intensive program for her is above the means of our household and why I humbly ask our community of charitable persons, family, friends and community members for your generous support in helping Natalie get to Stanford in the upcoming summer.

I am convinced that our community will be better off with Natalie’s leadership.  Any amount you can contribute helps tremendously in helping Natalie realize her dream of reaching the finish line to a graduate degree in law.

Thank you."
