Peace & Love Family!

Nat Turner's historic birth land is located in Southampton County, Virginia.  Elder H. K. Khalifah and Sister Reda Khalifah (deceased) founded The Nat Turner Library in 1998 as an educational memorial dedicated to freedom fighter Nat Turner's legacy.   Elder Khalifah is known as 'The Father of Independent Black Publishing.'  As an author and publisher, he has helped hundreds of Black authors to get published when mainstream publishers would not.  The Nat Turner Library is the only institution in Southampton County that is dedicated to Nat Turner's legacy.  Screenwriter, Director, Actor, Nate Parker (The Birth of a Nation movie) consulted with Elder Khalifah about Nat Turner's history.

In August of 1831, Nat Turner led the most successful slave revolt in American history.  The Nat Turner Library houses the largest selection of books about Nat Turner in the world.  The Nat Turner Library preserves Black history beyond a single month through ongoing events and meetings such as; the Nat Turner War Trail Tour led by Elder Khalifah and son Ibn Khalifah.  The Nat Turner Library hosts annual lectures, festivals, Black Books Achievement Awards (1st weekend in June), Nat Turner Music & Arts Fest (August), Nat Turner Day (August 21st), Ancestors Day (Nov. 11th), and so much more!

This fundraising  campaign is designed to SAVE, MAINTAIN & PRESERVE Nat Turner's legacy through this invaluable institution.  Without outside help from YOU, this historic land and institution is in jeopardy of loss.  We are reaching out to supporters and lovers of Black history, culture and truth to help save Nat Turner's birth land.  An initial goal of $150,000 is requested in order to SAVE THE LAND, a seed to begin the liberation process to FREE THE LAND and keep ownership in the hands of the Khalifah family who have been preserving Nat Turner's legacy through the Nat Turner Library for 21 years.  This cultural education institution sits on 20 acres of a part of Nat Turner's birth land in Southampton County, Virginia.

Brothers & Sisters, your contributions will aid in the preservation and protection of this historic monument and land from the hands of private developers who have NO desire to maintain Nat Turner's legacy.  We invite you to join us in our efforts to FREE THE LAND and BURN THE MORTGAGE by August 21, 2019 on Nat Turner Day.   Make history with us!   This is just the beginning...
