Nat Hurwitz passed away tragically in a highway accident that took place Monday night (1/15/2018).
Family, friends, loved ones, and colleagues are converging to support Nat's wife Ivy, and their children Ariel and Leah. It has been a difficult time for all, and their family can use our support.
Nat shared generously of his time and care to his friends and helped thousands of people with mental illness over a lifetime of service where he seemed hard-wired to always go the extra mile. Nat was a true champion for people struggling with mental illness, he often fought the system when he felt it wasn't treating every patient like a family member, which he continually strove to do every day in his work. On Friday he was telling friends about how he had found a new level of happiness and satisfaction in his work that had eluded him for many years.
Nat has two lovely daughters currently attending colleges in Denver and Phoenix. His family must travel from out of state in order to attend the services and any help with the immediate expenses would be greatly appreciated.
