Nashville - Operation BBQ Relief Deployment

Hello, I am Stan Hays, Co-Founder and CEO for Operation BBQ Relief.   Operation BBQ Relief is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that will be deploying to Nashville to provide the healing power of BBQ to communities affected by the tornado on March 3, 2020.  Every dollar donated will be used to feed families and first responders in need. Over 70,000 families are left without power as the death toll continues to increase because of this devastating tornado.  Thousands of families are homeless and in need of meals as the recovery efforts continue.  Please donate today! Every dollar helps makes a difference.

Operation BBQ Relief is providing compassion, hope, and friendship to individuals and organizations affected by the Nashville tornado.

About Operation BBQ Relief

Operation BBQ Relief is a nonprofit organization started by champion barbecue pitmasters that has grown to become the nation’s premier charity in providing hot meals following natural disasters. The Operation BBQ Relief team of champion pitmasters was recently awarded the 2020 Reserve Grand Champion Overall title at the prestigious World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest in Houston on February 29, 2020. Operation BBQ Relief combines its expertise in cooking and catering BBQ meals with its ability to quickly mobilize teams into any area where disaster disrupts the lives of families and communities. Operation BBQ Relief will be preparing hot meals in Nashville and distributing throughout the nearby areas.

“We monitored the tornado in Nashville and immediately called our leadership team together to begin plans for deployment. We have always had a passion and love for the craft of BBQ, but it’s not just about food. It’s about what a meal can do for people in their time of need. BBQ is comfort food that provides hope and compassion during the most difficult time,” says Stan Hays, Co-Founder and CEO, Operation BBQ Relief.

The OBR Family in Nashville

The OBR Family served over 1700 meals yesterday out in the field in East Nashville, Mt. Juliet, and Lebanon. We have a big day today projecting to serve over 7500 meals to families, organizations, and first responders.

We talk a lot about the “OBR Family” at Operation BBQ Relief.

From our Staff to our volunteers to our network of pitmasters across the country, the OBR Family is a solid group of brothers and sisters united in sharing the healing of power of BBQ.

The OBR Family means hopping on a call with 20 of your closest OBR Family members on March 3 immediately after hearing an EF-3 tornado ripped a part Nashville, a city known for good times and legendary country music.

The OBR Family means packing up trucks and trailers in a heartbeat and leaving your jobs and immediate family to provide hot meals in a state hundreds of miles away.

The OBR Family means utilizing skills and resources to provide thousands of meals to communities that have been completely destroyed.

The OBR Family is hope, compassion, and love.

Nashville, we love you.

You are now a part of the OBR Family forever.

We have your back.

We are providing hot BBQ meals to have your city back to singing about good times again.
