Nashville Half Marathon for Brown Boys Read

I volunteered with Brown Boys Read last year and I was very impressed. Not only does the program teach underserved black men how to read, but it also teaches them how to run. Yes, run. Each of the boys in the program is also trained to complete a 5K race! I didn't get to volunteer this year so I am instead donating any and all funds raised from my first half marathon to Brown Boys Read. Let's give back and lift them up. This innovative program was created by Demetrius Short, captain of the Nashville chapter of Black Men Run and founder of the Transformation Life Center nonprofit.
