NARP50plus food bank to provide food packs

Donation protected
Nigeria is currently seen as having one of the highest rates of poverty in the world and the highest number of people in extreme poverty. The current emergency is related to the continuous increase in poverty as a result of COVID-19 which is making it very difficult for countless citizens to earn a living and put food on the table. This is particularly worse amongst older retired citizens, many of whom are very poor.

The need is great. However, every little helps, particularly for the most vulnerable in Nigeria which include the elderly and the aged. NARP50PLUS, a not-for-profit organization set-up in 2017 modeled after the AARP in the US & CARP in Canada to serve the interests of the elderly, has been working on alleviating the problem. The immediate need is to provide food packs (effectively a food bank) for up to 1,000 elderly people at a cost of 5,000 Naira per pack (circa £10, USD$13 or CAD$16).

The goal is to help sustain the food bank initiative of the Association.

We would like to thank those who supported our previous campaign that raised £1,000 at the onset of the pandemic. Things have actually become worse as the country is now in a recession, and we are now hoping to do even more with a £5,000. Thanks in advance for stopping by and supporting us to support some of the poorest in the world.
