Hurricane Irma - NAPLES

Hi everyone - As some of you may know, my Mom is a Naples, Florida resident. Our family has been fortunate enough to be in Naples for over 25 years now. However, Hurricane Irma is on her way.
We have so much to be grateful for here in Toronto, or Canada in general right now.
When I say "we," I mean my Mom - but we have left our home and all our belongings behind in Naples. Although Naples may not be directly hit, the damage will still be evident. Hopefully our damage is minimal. My Mom is doing fine - she is on her way as we speak to Tallahassee - taking backroads and keeping an eye out for gas and water bottles.
Heres where the story takes a slight turn.
She is travelling with one of our dearest family friends as well as co-workers, Bev. Bev has 2 dogs with her, one of which has just been diagnosed with heart problems. Vet bills as well as access to services during a hurricane are flat out unrealistic. (we all know me when it comes to dogs) Bev has left her home and all her belongings as well - however her home unfortunatley is not as flood-proof or safe as ours might be. She is estimating that she may lose everything. Even if she doesnt, the repair costs for her to fix the damage will be overwhelming. She has brought our family so much joy, and has always been a great friend to my Mom and myself. She is 77, yet a total firecracker. My Mom will help out in any way she can - be it emotional, financial, or both. But she can't do it alone. If you somehow feel some sort of connection so we can prep my family who may not be as fortunate, please let me know. Legit ANYTHING helps. Even if we only raise enough that they have a "buffer fund" week when they return back to Florida, it would mean the world.
Please be aware that My Mom and I are well aware that not everyone can allow themselves to donate. Support and thoughts are so well appreciated. The money will be held here for the time being, and once the storm blows over Florida (this weekend at some point) her and I will decide how best to allocate everything. I will keep everyone posted and am so incredibly grateful at how selfless people can be. The world is a scary place but NOT WHEN YOU HAVE FRIENDS LIKE MINE AM I RIGHT. Love you all.
