Napa & Sonoma Kids - Fire Relief

Donation protected
The devastation from the Napa and Sonoma County fires is unprecedented. This page is to support the kids who have been affected by the fires. The emotional and psychological damage for the children affected is long-lasting and will stretch past the immediate danger the fires have caused.

100% of the donations raised on this page will be used to support the children of Napa and Sonoma Counties. We will purchase comfort items (stuffed animals, blankies, new toys) as well as school items (backpacks, lunch boxes) to help them return to school. Our goal is to reestablish a sense of normalcy for the kids that have been ravaged by this disaster.

Who is coordinating this effort?
A group of Napa Valley moms led by Katie Clark, Christa Steinrok and Candice Chia. We consider ourselves the lucky ones amidst this community tragedy and would like to do what we can to help!

Katie Clark is a mom of two and has lived in Napa since 2009 with her husband, Graham. Their kids attend Pueblo Vista Elementary and First Christian Pre-School. Katie works for Constellation Brands and she coaches part time for Waves Napa Valley Swim Team

Christa Steinrok is a mom of two and has been a resident of Downtown Napa since 2012 with her partner, Michael Meade. Their daughter attends Pueblo Vista Elementary and Christa is an RN at Sonoma Valley Hospital.

Candice Chia is a mom of two and has been a resident of Napa since 2013 with her husband Jim Leiken. Candice and Jim's kids attend Mt. George Elementary. Originally trained as a pastry chef, Candice is now a stay-at-home mom who is active in the local special needs community as a Board Member of local nonprofit ParentsCAN and Founder of Napa Parents of Autism & ASD, a Facebook-base support network for families with children on the autism spectrum in Napa Valley.

How the funds will be spent :
100% of the money raised will be used to purchase  items for kids affected by the Napa and Sonoma County fires.

We will coordinate with the local shelters, the American Red Cross and the Teacher Resource Center of the North Bay (TRCNB) and will purchase needed items in bulk and deliver them to designated places of need.

What will be purchased:
- Backpacks
- Lunch Boxes
- School Supplies
- Stuffed Animals
- Pillows, Blankets, Bedding
- New Toys
- New Underwear, Socks
- New Clothing (Shoes/Sneakers, Sweatshirts/Jackets)

We are paying for the items out of pocket and will reimburse ourselves via the funds on this page. We will only withdraw what we have spent. Katie Clark, as organizer will be responsible for all funds donated and their withdrawal. Any leftover money will be donated to the Teacher Resource Center of the North Bay (TRCNB).

Finally, we will update this page weekly, noting the items we were able to purchase with the funds.
