Naomi Brodock's bucket list dash

Donation protected
It has been more than a decade since I stood as best man in my brother's wedding. Andy was marrying a spunky, life loving and kind hearted woman, Naomi. I could not have been more honored than to toast a fine couple starting their lives together. Naomi fit into our family so easily it was as if she had always been a part of it.

Naomi has more heart and determination than anyone I have ever met. Unfortunately, the rest of her body seems to be in a war against itself. It was just over 4 years ago that her first cancer was discovered. You read that right don't worry.  A stage 4 colon cancer that threatened her life inevitably, nevertheless she has fought relentlessly against it. Prior to memorial day this year a second cancer crept in to the already complicated battle. The first prognosis being that her cancer had spread up to her lymphnodes and throat. After all her first cancer had made it's way to her lungs. After a few tests and scans it was determined that this was another cancer all it's own, respectably claiming stage 4 status.

I don't know about you, for me this would have sealed it. She has already fought against a terminal cancer and nearly beat it into remission (which was never an option for her). Results of the second cancer brought tears and anger, a given, for Naomi it brought a drive to fight even harder for life. Andy and Naomi have graced the earth with two energetic and curious kiddos, Edison and Julia. Naomi is fighting for as much time as possible to be with her family. Edison (8) and Julia (6) are having a hard time understanding why mommy is so sick. It is difficult to know how much they comprehend the current situation.

We were just given news that her second cancer is pushing Naomi's body to it's limits. Andy called me a week and a half ago to tell me that without surgery we would lose Naomi in about a week. That with surgery we could expect a month or possibly a little more. The surgery would consist of an emergency trach to allow Naomi to breathe. We are waiting for news regarding immuno therapy that may reduce the size of the masses and give her a bit more time.

My hopes are to raise enough money for them to take memory making adventures. Any trip to any destination is going to require more money than the average person since Naomi will need to take special precautions. Any donation is more than appreciated large or small! We can't thank enough in advance for your help!! I truly believe that we can accomplish this goal and give them an opportunity to experience bliss amongst this heavy burden.
