It is with a heavy heart that I regret to inform you that Ronald Haas, whom you may know better as just Haas (or by his emcee name "Nanotek"), unfortunately passed away this past Saturday.
Haas was an extremely creative individual who loved music and art and his absence will be truly felt throughout the community. He was dealt an unfortunate hand and grew up with a very tough life that never included having met his father, and a mother who's battle with Huntington's disease caused many issues while he was young. After she passed away, he was awarded custody of the state and shifted around until his grandparents were able to save him and his brother. Shortly thereafter, they passed away, and his brother and him were again separated and put back into the system. Haas would grow up without very much guidance outside of the streets, and every family member he knew has passed away, including his brother. To say he had a rough life is an understatement, but Haas never complained and throughout his life never lost sight of his true passion for making music.
We are raising money to honor Haas with a traditional memorial and to help pay for his cremation. Due to the timing we need help fast to make this happen, being his funeral is slated for this Friday the 22nd. The costs are projected to be in the $1500+ range and we'd like to get some flowers and a proper urn. I set the goal for $2000.
Any additional monies raised, that aren't used for the memorial services, will be donated to Homeless services and an Alcohol Abuse Charity in Haas' name.
I will be in charge of the funds and trust that anyone that will be donating, knows I am of good character and judgement and would not misappropriate your generosity and help towards saying goodbye to our mutual friend, Haas.
I understand that it's the holidays and times are tight so your assistance is greatly appreciated.
