Nannette's Battle with ALS

Donation protected

In recent weeks our family has been faced with life changing news.  My sister Nannette was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). We
have been trying to grasp the reality of her illness.  Through this
process we are beginning to understand what lies ahead.  With that
being said, we are ready to move forward and tackle this together and
reach out to our friends, extended family and "framily" to lift us up in
PRAYER first and foremost and,  if possible,  to assist financially and/or with necessities.

You may not be aware but this is the  same disease that took our
mother and our grandfather.  We know this disease all to well.

IF you have never heard of ALS it's a nervous system disease that is
terminal.  It  weakens your muscles and impacts your whole body
function, but not your mind.  This disease typically runs its course in  2-5 years but progression can be pretty rapid.  My sister has been
through so much already having Cancer a couple times and now having to battle this as well.

She has made two  trips to Cleveland Clinic and has had so many
appointments with other doctors over the course of several months.
She  is on the waiting list for the ALS Clinic which she cannot get into
until February.

Nannette has started on the ALS protocol which includes nutritional
items, supplements, and medications which are all very expensive.  At
some point we will also be needing in home medical services.
She is looking at different clinical trials as they become available and
doing a lot of behind the scenes research on how she can be proactive
in her own health care.   Her medical bills have already started to pile
up and have gotten behind.  Her husband does have insurance through his company but as we all know their are  deductibles, co-pays, and max
out of pocket, and exclusions.

Her WISH is  to focus on the LIVING and not her dying.  We would
like to spend as much time with her as possible and make meaningful
memories.

We have taken pride in taking care of ourselves and each other; this
monster, however, will take a village to conquer.  Any and all assistance is very much appreciated.

There are sundries and personal items needed.  If you would like
to contribute any of these items, please contact me and I can forward you the list.

Cards and love notes would truly lift her spirit.  Her address is:

Thank you in advance and please pray for Nannette, her husband,
children, grandchildren, and the rest of our family.
