Nanna,s Helicopter Ride

We had an amazing weekend at our annual church event .It was amazing yet a bit on the scary side.We always start the day with sledding for some ,singing and worship for others .I was in the middle of working on a song when when we got the word that there had been a bad sledding accident and to call 911 and we would need an ambulance and a life flight helicopter. everyone there took to doing whatever needed to be done .Some formed a prayer group and some went to the hill to see what they could do at the sight of the accident. There was one active local EMT who witnessed the accident and two other very experienced EMT folks there as part of the group yes our little Nanna of nine years old ( I call her ours because she has found a place in all the hearts that gather for this event) had hit a small tree and was knocked out for a short time . When I got to her she had come to and was talking sensibly .The EMT folks readied her for the ride to Spokane with concerns of internal damage and she was in much pain ,her back ,her ribs ,short of breath and a bruised leg . Off she flew and we waited to hear of any news.The first reports came in ,no internal injuries but she was in pain so more tests revealed two possibly three cracked vertebra a small hole in her lung and lots of bruises but nothing that would not heal in time and she would be released to go home. I am sharing this with you because there is no way the family will be able to handle the bill for the helicopters ride .Our Nanna comes from a family of 13 children .
