Nani’s Emergency Treatment

Dear Friends and Family, I am asking for your help today, not for myself, but for K8's sister Nani. Her Mom Kim is in a terrible bind and we dont want to miss ANY opportunity we have to change this situation and Save Nanis Life. PLEASE consider helping this mini doxie with a heart of gold. Her human family cant imagine life without her. At only 6 years old she has somehow suffered a debilitating back injury and has also found out she has an enlarged heart, complicating treatment.
There are a million reasons i can give you to consider donating or even sharing , but the #1 reason is Nani is family. Kim is like a sister to me, and id be HEARTBROKEN if we were in this situation with K8. Less than a month ago we had a similar scare with Nanis sister K8, but because we are here in Colorado, she had better medication options available to her (doggie Cannabis Tincture) and top rated veterinary services.
Where Kim is in Virginia, those medications are not available to her. We have a plan in place but none of it is free. We need to get her reevaluated by another vet, get her MRI that was reccomended, get her treated, and worst case scenario of bringing Nani here to our pack in Colorado where she can get better medications and be watched and tended to 24-7. Kim works full time, has other furkids AND a human kid too, so not only is time limited, financial resources are being drained caring for Nani. We all want to do whats best for our furkids and families but Kim can only do so much alone. LETS SHOW HER SHES NOT ALONE!!!!
We cant do that WITHOUT YOUR HELP! We need to provide Nani and Kim with options, and i know we can do that as a community! IF we can heal and treat her there in Virginia, that is OPTIMAL but we are prepared to bring her to Colorado if the Vet determines that full time care and the meds available here are her best option!

"To say the least the last few months of 2017 and the beginning of 2018 have been less then nice to my poor sweet dauschund Nani., she’s never had any problems ! She is such a sweet girl and pretty laid back . We woke up one morning and she just wasn’t herself ... that night she was shaking terrible.. it was so sad!!! It was the weekend so I took her to the Emergency Vet . They took an X-ray and said she had inflammation in her spine at T11 and T12. And added that she had an enlarged heart . The ER Vet gave her MOBIC
for 4 days .. she seemed like it was really helping at first .. then day 5 she had no meds and she was a disaster again . Shaking and looking ever so sad, refusing to move, and not wanting to be touched. Since November she’s seen 2 ER Vets and her regular vet an additional 2 Times .They put her on prednisone and tramadol and gabapentin . She’s been taking these meds for 6 weeks and she’s not getting any better. She’s had to be in her kennel 24/7 except eating and potty, and has to be carried carfully outside to go potty. She just seems to be getting weaker and weaker . Her back legs are like noodles .. she kinda sways when she’s trying to walk :(
The Vet said last week that she needs blood work and an mri ... mri alone is roughly $1500 dollars .. they said treatment coukd be actupuncture and/or surgery depending on what is on the MRI. I’ve already spent so much...I’m a single parent who works full time ... It’s just my income alone, and I spread it very thin to take care of my daughter and my other furkids. All i know is that it hurts my heart to watch her like this. It’s like a hurt child that can’t speak, but you know something is terribly wrong. I love her so much... My daughter loves her ! I
we just want to do whats best for her, and know if the vet says theres nothing that can be done, then we will cross that bridge when we get to it .. But they ARE saying this is correctible, but it will take more resources than i have available to me to make that happen. ❤️ I don’t want her to hurt or suffer I just want to do whats right for her. "
