Nando the Waikoloa Bull and wild donkeys

Hi everyone! Over the last year or so I’ve been feeding the Waikoloa pasture cows with the produce grounds from my juice bar at Yoga Barre. Since the drought, all of the cows have been moved to greener pastures, except for one special bull that I named Nando. It took him months to warm up to me, but since we got him a trough, a straw grotto to lay in, and have a fresh supply of water, he has pretty much taken residence behind my house. He’s gotten noticeably more skinny as time has gone on without rain- and even though I bring him food from my business, get donated food from Aunty Lorna, and I purchase food sometimes from the feed store, it hasn’t been enough to keep weight on him. My neighbor Ferol decided to share about Nando on the Waikoloa forum, and so many of the villagers have been so supportive with offers of food and advice on how to get him help. We decided to start this GoFundMe so neighbors could chip in for a vet visit and food to sustain him until we find a long term solution. Personally I love this bull now, and so do my kids. He is affectionate and loving, and has added so much joy into my life and the life of my kids.
I offered to purchase Nando from the owner and keep him here on the pasture where he has won the hearts of my family and all of the neighbors. He said that Nando is a stud bull now and will keep him here on the pasture until further notice- so we will see- I asked him to please sell Him to me once he’s done using him and I don’t mind keeping him here to stud.
We also have noticed the wild donkeys coming daily to drink water and eat the alfalfa hay (as long as we lay some out away from Nando’s trough, which he guards). So, your donations help to feed and water those guys too!
