Nancy Rutan needs help going home.

On June 17th, 2022, a storm came into Dickson County and it knocked down part of a tree in Nancy's yard. Nancy was sitting on her porch, enjoying a cup of coffee, when the tree fell on top of her. Tennessee City Fire Department managed to free her from the wreckage and EMS transported her to TriStar Horizon. She has since been in Skyline Medical Center where she has been receiving medical attention. She has multiple broken ribs and vertebrates. The doctors had discussed possible spinal surgery to insert a rod but have decided to keep Nancy in a full back brace instead. Nancy is alert and is in good spirits considering the circumstances.

Nancy has been told that she is able to come home but is unable to with the condition of her porch. Nancy will be moved to a nursing home until the porch at her home can safely be walked across. It is very unstable. Arrangements have already been made for clean up once the insurance company can assess the damages. My husband and I were there yesterday, as we were leaving part of the porch fell off of the support beam and collapsed.

Nancy talked to the insurance company today. They told her that it would cost $500 now and $500 when they were finished with the porch. Unfortunately, Nancy and her husband Gary do not have the money to pay the $1000 to the insurance company to get the deck fixed.

She is the ROCK for so many people.

Most importantly, she was also taking care of her husband and 2 grandchildren at home up until this happened. She was the only one working. This is a major financial set back for their family.
