Raising money for the End of Life Care and Burial of Nancy Crutchfield.
Nancy dedicated her life to helping those less fortunate than herself financially as well as with knowledge. She cared for kids from the projects in south Dallas, kids who had no one else but her. When she discovered one of her students was being abused, she became her foster mom. She was a mother who loved her daughter more than life itself and finally she was a a woman who suffered from a life stealing, health sucking illness by the name of Polycystic Kidney Disease for over 20 years. She lived through the removal of both of her kidneys, 10 + years of dialysis and finally a kidney transplant. Through the decades as she fought PKD, she always maintained a positive, humor-filled embrace of life. She had friends that would be there for her, and she was just as dedicated to them. It is with true sadness that Nancy has now fought a new foe, Pneumonia. This fight took all that she had left to give from her. She is not expected to recover. Her only daughter Michelle will be having to make the heart-wrenching decision of removing her from life support this weekend. Nancy had always maintained an end of life insurance plan to prevent her final costs to become a burden upon the daughter she so dearly loved. Unfortunately that insurance plan was taken from her by Medicare and left her and her family without the resources to make her final arrangements. We, the friends of Nancy are asking for your help to provide the end of life care she so very richly deserved. Nancy’s entire life was dedicated to giving to others and now, I hope, it is time for karma to pay her back. Please donate anything you can afford to assist with this final step in a life marked by kindness, love, laughter, illness and altruism. Nancy is survived by her daughter Michelle who also suffers from the same genetic disease that robbed Nancy of so much.
