Nancy Karp & Dancers 2024 Performance Season
Tax deductible
Help us fund our 2024 Season’s World Premiere, with original music by Samuel Adams and David A. Jaffe, performed live by Friction Quartet!
Nancy Karp + Dancers will premiere its New Work at the Taube Atrium Theater in San Francisco, formerly the Rotunda of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, April 6 & 7, 2024. The New Work choreographed for seven dancers will respond to the Atrium’s architectural shifts and changes, since Karp’s company first premiered work in the space in 1981. This site specific piece invites the audience through the building’s entryway into the formal performance space, where the New Work will be followed by a performance of fly through the night, and land near dawn.
Nancy Karp writes, “In a world that is so fragmented, I want to create work that affirms our interconnectedness to one another and to all living beings. This interdependence is widely seen throughout nature, and in particular the collective movement of birds. I have been drawn to the phenomena of murmuration and the flight patterns of migrating birds. This has been our initial jumping off point in the studio. The horizontal and vertical actions of birds in flight and how their movement influences and affects one another is endlessly fascinating.”
2024 Season collaborators are:
Nancy Karp, Artistic Director and Choreographer.

Nancy Karp + Dancers has had a successful history creating site-specific work that draws inspiration and context from the environment in which it is created. Karp has created works for sites to include the BART subway stations, the Oakland Museum, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Galleries and the Gardens, the former Del Monte Cannery in Emeryville, and the hillside terraces of the Kyoto College of Art, Japan.
All contributions will go directly to the collaborating artists - dancers, musicians, composers, and designers. Due to 2024 redistribution of government funding to the arts, we are in need of individual donor support this season to produce the upcoming performances. We are reaching out to our closest supporters to help bridge the gap in funding. All donations are tax deductible, and we greatly appreciate your contribution.
The New Arts Foundation is an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code: EIN #94-2759864. [Tax ID]
