Namibia Sustainability Trip

Donation protected
Hello. My name is Jack Wessels and I am a 10th grade student at the International School of Paris (ISP).

This July, I will be going with my school’s Sustainable Development Project team to the Kalahari Desert in Namibia to assist in the renovation of a boarding school. In the Kalahari Desert, settlements are few and far between. It used to take children upwards of 3 hours to get to their school from their settlement. To solve this problem, ISP built a boarding school 7 years ago, and it is now in dire need of refurbishment, which will be the our team’s focus. We will be in Namibia for  3 weeks, and we will be doing a multitude of tasks including, but not limited to, painting and refurbishing the school, assisting in the creation of a sustainable garden, and teaching English and sexual education courses in the community. All of these tasks will be accomplished with the help of the local community, with the intention of teaching a system of sustainable development--environmental, economic and social--in a challenging environment.

All funds from this campaign will be used solely for project materials and supplies. This includes, paint, school supplies, tools, new clothing and shoes for the students, and gardening materials.  No funds raised through Go Fund Me will be used for travel or administrative costs. All the money that you donate will go directly to the people of Namibia and the children of the school.
