Healing Nikki from Surgery

Donation protected
Dearest family and friends,

Nikki lives her life as though everything is rigged in her favor, but despite this positive affirmation, hardship struck, and an emergency surgery was needed to remove the cyst from her ovary. We created this campaign as a way to support Nikki in this challenging time to cover the medical expenses and cost of living while she is unable to work.

In Nikki's words...
Thank you so much for your support this last week. I wanted to post to share the experience I have gone through. Over the past year I have felt sensation in my lower right abdominal area. I work out a lot so I did not give it much more thought than a tender iliopsoas with slight abdominal inflammation over the last year that I attested to too much cacao perhaps. After Tabu's class this last Monday, I lied down in Savasana and right away I felt the mass and knew something had shifted. I have a rich German heritage of dedicated workers, and I celebrate that I got this from my Papa on this Father's day, so I pushed through and taught and took a class after. It was on Tuesday 6/16 because of the strong/loving encouragement of Stephanie and Amore, for whom I am forever grateful, that basically stood their ground for me to go to the ER and from there on out it was a blur of events. Fast forward, after emergency surgery Friday, assisted by my dear friend and angel hands Lisa Lipschitz, a grapefruit size mass was removed from my right ovary. The results are still out at Pathology but based on what it looks like to be a benign cyst, thank you God. I am a little down because of my surprising $3000 deductible (originally thought this was $2000) that is drying out my savings for two adventures I had planned this year to Italy and Peru but I am forever grateful that the events unfolded as they did.

Thank you to everyone who showed up for me in ways I will forever be grateful but also as a reminder, even from a healthy human, we must always check things out. If the slightest intuition guided you that something is off, please check it out. To my loving and committed students, I will be out for a month staying at my parents’ home in Fallbrook, but I so look forward to returning with more clarity and will be joining you on your mat soon.

Namaste my beautiful family and friends, I love you forever, Nik.
