Namaste Baby Goat Medical Bill

Donation protected

The baby goat Valentine was born on the Laughing Goat Fiber Farm in January of this year. He was the smallest kid in a group of triplets. Unlike the other kids, he didn't nurse from his mother and had a difficult time accepting a bottle. The owner of the farm could not take care of him because she was recovering from surgery; Bridgid and the children at Namaste Montessori School adopted Valentine. They cared for him all winter in the classroom, feeding him multiple times a day and changing his bedding, looking forward to when he would be strong enough to join the other animals at Namaste Montessori School. All of the animals at the school were adopted and are an important part of the Namaste Montessori experience for all the students, teaching responsibility, compassion, and so much more.

As Valentine was growing, albeit slowly but surely, he developed Urinary calculosis (aka kidney stones), which is a common metabolic disease of male sheep and goats. Early attempts at treating this at home were not working, most likely because of his petite size and dietary challenges. As a result, Valentine had to be hospitalized at the Cornell Veterinary Hospital to undergo surgery to remove the stones and unblock his bladder.  He is healing fast and is getting ready to join the students and other animals at the campus later this summer.

The goal of this fundraiser is to help cover the medical bill of $2473 to save Valentine! (Full Medical Bill for Valentine ). Thanks to the help of friends and family, we were able to raise $500 so far and sincerely appreciate your help in covering the rest of the medical bill.

Thank you for your help!
