Ophelia's Uganda Mission Trip

Hi there! Thanks for checking out what's going on in this wild and abundant life of mine. I have been accepted to join a team of volunteers going to Nakaseke, Uganda, for two weeks in June 2018 to minister to the community and the students of God's Hope Schools through an organization called Simone's Kids. Through Simone's Kids, I sponsor a sweet boy who wants to grow up to be a teacher! His name is Henry, and on this trip I will get to meet and love on him. As you can guess, loving on babies is one of my favorite things to do in the world, and I can't wait! In addition to meeting my sponsor child, our itinerary includes the following:
● Spending most days at both God’s Hope Primary School and God’s Hope High School
● Helping with the sponsorship program
● Serving lunch to students daily
● Volunteering at a local orphanage
● Prayer time with patients at the Nakaseke Hospital
● Spending time in the capital city of Kampala
● Home visits with students
● Enjoyable evening activities such as hiking, playing volleyball with the high school students, and devotions/small group time
● Optional safari through Murchison Falls National Park
To be able to go on this trip, I need financial support. The cost, including airfare, meals, and accomodations, is $2800. However, that does not include the optional safari trip, which is $350-$400. I will be in Africa for what may be the only time in my life, and I don't want to pass up the opportunity for a safari! In addition, the trip cost does not include immunizations, optional emergency medical insurance, and other incidentals. I will need to raise the total by April 30, 2018.
