Support Ian's Family in Their Time of Need
Donation protected
My brother Ian and his family are currently facing a tough time, and I’m hoping to rally support to help them through this challenging period.
As most of you know, we didn't have the best support growing up. I know my mom tried her best, but unfortunately, the path she had chosen seemed to be all downhill, and the path to recovery was too steep of a climb. I was lucky enough to find basketball as my outlet, but my brother Ian wasn't as lucky.
I am not condoning the path my brother has chosen, but I know he fights every day to try to be a better version of himself. My brother has tried to build a life for himself and his family, but the pressures of the day-to-day struggles provided an excuse for him to sometimes fall back into old habits.
At this point, Ian finds himself in and out of jail, his family has lost their home to foreclosure, and as of yesterday, the power where they are staying has been shut off.
I cannot help but remember these days of my childhood and now think of my nephew going through the same circumstances.
I am organizing a fundraising effort to not only help during this terrible time, but to bring my nephew and his mom hope for the future. While I would love to be able to help them by myself, I too am struggling to make ends meet. I learned a long time ago that while asking for help can sometimes be embarrassing, there are so many people out there willing to help. If we are able to raise just $250, the financial burden my brother's family is under will be eased and they can focus on taking steps forward in Ian's recovery and rebuilding the life they have been fighting for. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this message within your network would also be incredibly helpful. Your support means the world to me, and I truly appreciate any help you can offer during this difficult time.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Together, we can help them feel the love and support they need right now.
With gratitude,
Gina
