My name is Ron Wahl, and I’m writing this on behalf of my beautiful wife, Cheryl.

Everyone that knows Cheryl will agree just what a wonderful and beautiful soul she has. She has a wonderful sense of humor, and loves to laugh.

We met 21 years ago, and there has never been any question that she is the love that God made for me.

Cheryl was diagnosed with cervical cancer in June, 2010. She had a radical hysterectomy in January, 2011. During this surgery, it was discovered that she had Stage 3 Primary Peritoneal cancer. This is a rare form of cancer affecting the inner lining of the abdominal cavity. The surgeon removed the tumor, and she underwent the full 6-session chemotherapy treatment. After the treatments were completed, a scan showed the cancer was gone.

About a year later, in 2012, Cheryl noticed that she was again in pain at the site of the original tumor. She went to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, where she was diagnosed as again having Primary Peritoneal Cancer. It was indicated that due to the quantity and location of the tumors, the cancer was inoperable, and terminal.

Cheryl has undergone numerous treatments of chemotherapy. While some of them seemed to help for a short time, the combination of the different drugs and their side effects has left her with even more health issues.

Due to these health issues, chemotherapy is no longer an option. Any treatment will do more harm than good. As such, Cheryl is now in Hospice. The cancer is progressing, and has spread throughout her abdomen, and is now in her liver and her Omentum.

Cheryl’s medical needs have taken their toll on us. Because we have no indication how much time we have left together, we would love to be able to spend more and more time together, making the memories that will sustain us throughout the rest of both of our lives. One of Cheryl’s wishes is to be able to travel, seeing parts of the country that she’s wanted to see for years.

I have Family Medical Leave (FMLA) available, but I have not only exhausted all of my available paid time off, but I am currently 40 hours in the negative.

Any donations would be humbly and greatly appreciated.
