On January the 24th, Bruce Nadorozny was admitted to the hospital after complaining from the worst headache of his life. His daughter Cassandra had heard a fall at 5:20, who immediately contacted 911. She then contacted his second daughter, Chelsea, who was at work who immediately rushed home and arrived before the paramedics. Third daughter, Jeannie, had called home expecting to ask her dad to pick her up from work at 10pm, but was instead met by panic from her two sisters about the condition her father was in. After the paramedics arrived, Bruce reluctantly agreed to go to the hospital by ambulance (and he walked to the ambulance), and after arriving, fell unconscious in the washroom and hit his head from the fall. That was the determined time of his second brain bleed.
Chelsea and Cassandra met him at the hospital, where the doctors explained his condition. After a few hours and a CT Scan, it was determined that he had had a brain bleed. Uncertain of the severity of the bleed, he was transferred to General Hospital from Juravinski Hospital to see if the neurosurgeons could do anything for Bruce. When Bruce first arrived at the General hospital he had almost all of his primitive reflexes, including coughing around a tube to pump air into his lungs. After being transferred, his condition had started to deteriorate.
The surgeons attempted to relieve pressure to no avail. His brain had swelled too much, and Saturday afternoon they said that he had lost all primitive reflexes and thus met the requirements to be declared brain dead.
This news was a shock for his children, especially after losing their mother from terminal cancer at 6 years old. The surgeons stated that they could see that he had a small brain bleed prior to this massive brain bleed. The girls recognized that as another day he said he had an extremely painful headache. Due to the location of the bleed, there was nothing that could have helped Bruce even if he had recognized his stroke.
Due to this sudden tragedy, the triplets are now left to pay for many unexpected expenses. Any contributions that you can make are appreciated, and if you do not have the means to contribute, please keep the girls in your thoughts and prayers.
