In November, I'll once again take to the streets of the City of Brotherly Love to partake in the Philadelphia Marathon. With a hiatus from running for over a year and Simon’s birth, I am motivated by my goal to support the growth of Palliative care.
As many of you know, Palliative care, or palliative medicine, is specialized medical care for people facing serious illness with a focus on symptom relief and pain, no matter the diagnosis (bold the definition of PC). The interdisciplinary team of clinician’s goal is to improve quality of life for the patient and family while providing extra support. Palliative care can be provided at any age, any stage of serious illness, and can be provided along with curative treatment.
Help me raise funds to create a scholarship to provide an organization in need with a one year membership to Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC). Because of your support this organization will have access to CAPC tools, training, technical assistance and metrics needed to support their successful implementation and integration of Palliative care. Somebody you know has or could benefit from Palliative care in the future
So… what do you think? Are you ready to help make a difference?
Every dollar counts.
