I'll never forget meeting Nadine in Key Club when her family moved to the Dallas area during her 1st year in high school. We became quick friends! She was the yin to my yang and our personalities balanced each other from the start.
Nadine has that hair on fire, never know a stranger, outgoing personality that people are attracted to like a magnet. However, if you really know Nadine you know that is only the exterior shell and she is surprisingly very shy, confident and fearless with a dash of insecurity, and above all dependable and generous to her core.
When Nadine was working, it allowed her to be there for her friends in need. Sometimes it was financial help; loaning an extra car for a few months, helping pay the bills when ends couldn’t be met, or helping someone get on their feet by letting them crash in her spare room. She’s also helped physically by providing manual labor; helping friends with moves, home repairs and renovations. And from what I’ve heard she’s been a good friend to many by just being there during really difficult times, providing comedy relief and comfort. Many know her as a great party mediator providing libations and hosting parties, work social events or providing a refrigerator full of jello shots for a Winfield weekend, sparing no cost on variety or flavor. She enjoys having good times, being happy and surrounding herself with happy people.

Nadine hasn't been able to work since a rheumatoid arthritis flare and then losing her vision in the fall of 2015. Her true love, Jarrod has provided support in ways that only a true love can do. However, both have exhausted every emergency fund, all savings and retirement accounts they have in the last 3 years.
The added burden of the medical expenses that she will incur during her fight for Ovarian Cancer is something they just don't need to think about. A fund has been setup to help pay for items while they are awaiting reimbursement or for things that the VA will not be covering.
