To date, the Freedom House has housed and cared for at least 30 teenage girls.
For example, Angel came to The Freedom House 6 months ago from Panama. She was 14 years old. Her mother sold her for years to men who came to her house. One day while in her new home, Angel asked one of her ‘tias’ (the Spanish word for aunt) “why do tias give hugs and not mommas?”
When asked about her mother she replied, “No, my momma never put her arms around me. . . . . except to pick me up and throw me in my room with a man.”
Today Angel lives in The Freedom House, the only resident care center for sexually exploited and trafficked teenage girls in Costa Rica. Many will never return to their families and girls are arriving every month.
We need to save their home. We need to secure this building.
Your donation will save these girls’ home. Your donation will provide security, shelter, safety from harm and protection for these girls. . . . A place to grow and heal.
Together we can: Keep them Safe Secure their Freedom Give them Hope Let them dream
