Get Linda Hubbell Home!!!

Linda Hubbell is the wife of retired Jamaica Beach Police Lt. Steve Hubbell and a Jamaica Beach resident. Linda was diagnosed with cancer and after extensive and intensive treatments, has won her battle! However, she still has a long road in front of her and due to the aggressive treatments she has undergone, and some to come still, does not have the strength to climb stairs that lead into her home. Being coastal dwellers, they live in an elevated home that require stairs simply to get into their living quarters.
Linda was released from the hospital yesterday ( 02/25/15) but was forced to move into her Son's home on the mainland because of the inablilty and strength to climb the stairs into her own home to be with her husband Steve. While her Son is more than willing to share his home with his Mother, there is "no place like home!"
Jamaica Beach is a small village on Galveston's west end. While we may not always agree, we DO take care of each other and do what we can for our neighbor and one of the reasons that make living here, so special. Case in point...Mike Anderson is a Jamaica Beach resident and owner of Anderson and Sons' lift Co. He was contacted about this and agreed to lead the procurement and installation of a lift so that Linda could come home and rest in her own home, at cost.
These types of lifts are semi-permanent but can be moved after minor structural work on he home.
Steve Hubbell stated that if we were able to get this done and when Linda got better and the lift was no longer needed, it would be available to be moved to another person's home in their time of need.
Our plea is that we get Linda back into her own home with Steve so that she is truly "at home" where she can be with her husband as she recuperates from her long battle.
Any help you may give to get this Wife, Mother and neighbor home would be appreciated more than you know. She wants to be home, Steve wants her home and so do we!
